The institute houses over 200 mentally disabled boys, from the age of 5 upwards. The little boys were relocated here from other areas of Ukraine.
 
Direct Aid helped the institute to furnish the new wing for the boys. Now we would like to continue to add more services that the boys would benefit from.  As Erika Gacs (Finance director) has explained, an outdoor play and exercise area would help to calm the boys. Also, it would include a herb garden, looked after by the resident special needs adults. If budget permits, we would like to add a smaller greenhouse, so the boys can grow more indoor plants. We were told, they love looking after plants.
The institute has the garden space for such improvement.
