We are proud to have this growing list of great people and organizations. This list of Partners includes educational institutions, healthcare places, local aid groups, media channels, and governmental bodies. Together, we make magic happen and give hope to the people of Ukraine. So far, we have furnished nurseries, children's homes, rehabilitation centers, delivered generators, and supported local aid groups to help the fighting soldiers.

Governor / Transcarpathian Regional Administration
Miroszlav Bileckij

Head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration, in accordance with the Presidential Decree of November 8, 2024. The Governor kindly invited the Direct Aid visiting team to join the partnership and help equip the new Rehabilitation wing of Usghhorod State Hospital, which we finished in January 2025. In 2023, we also provided 9 pickup trucks to the regional military administration, which were sent to serve in the region of Szumi, Ukraine. The work continues, and we have several projects lined up to help both locals and injured soldiers.

Consul of the Consulate General of Hungary in Beregovo
Buczkó István

Mr István Buczkó has been leading the Beregovo district Consulate in Ukraine. We are grateful for their support in bringing aid from Hungary to Ukraine and safe and fast border crossing from and back to Hungary. All our international visits are registered with the Consulate, making the humanitarian aid missions even safer. We work with the Consulate through the Association of Subcarpathian Border Municipalities (Sándor Szabó, see later on this page).

Uzhhorod Endre Novak Reginal Clinic Hospital
Jacina Jurij Jurijovicsnak

Director of the largest hospital of Zakarpattia Oblast region of Ukraine. His dream was to upgrade the old teaching section of the hospital to a fully equipped rehabilitation center for injured soldiers. His dedication resulted in the hospital gaining access to state support, renovating the entire wing, and Direct Aid helped to source the much-needed training equipment. The new rehabilitation department is looking at treating over 1.000 people a year.

Director/ Regional Pediatric Hospital of Mukachevo
Dr Erzsébet Bíró

Dr Erzsebet Biro is the director of the largest children's hospital of Zakarpattia, with 420 beds, 28 departments, treating over 6.000 kids a year. Direct Aid has looked into helping the cancer patiens department, with new loundry machinery, and new sets of bedding, bed linens for all little patients. There is a request to set up children's play corners on 3 different departments. The young heart surgeon of the hospital - curently leading the pulmanology - is hoping to raise funds for a cardio section, with at least 4 rooms created in the new space. This hospital is treating kids injured in the war effected areas.

Uzhhorod University / Embassy of Ukraine in Hungary
Prof Sandor Fegyir (Федір Шандор)

He voluntarily joined the Ukrainian army after the start of Russian aggression and became famous when he continued his university classes via video link while sitting in the trenches. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy appointed Sándor Fegyir, a historian and university professor of partial Hungarian descent, as her country's ambassador to Hungary in January 2025. Direct Aid for Ukraine is pleased to continue to work with Mr Fegyir. Helping the veteran center training and rehabilitation programs, pickups and drones to the unit Mr Fegyir served in, and planning a university special creative space.

"Hungarian Birds" 414th Strike Drone Regiment
Robert Brovdy "Magyar" МАДЯР

Ukrainian: Бро́вді Ро́берт Йо́сипович; commonly known by his call sign Madyar (Мадяр =Hungarian') .He raised funds on his own to buy a "fleet of drones", with which he set up the aerial reconnaissance unit "Madyar's Birds".Птахи Мадяра) During the Kyiv offensive, he took part in the evacuation of civilians from Irpin during the battle for the city, and took part in fighting in Bucha and Borodianka. His unit was also sent to the frontline in the Kherson area, then they been taking part in the fighting in and around Krynky since at least November 2023. With the regional military administration, we have provided 130 FPV drones to his unit, the 414th Strike Drone Regiment

The Hungarian Reformed Church Foundation has been a key partner since the very beginning of our work in Ukraine. Victor Ágoston is a man who knows no impossible when it comes to solving challenging problems with transport and logistics. Thanks to him and his organization, we managed to move generators, kids' furniture, and essential aid to Ukraine. Every tip across with him is a true mission. Visiting new possible project venues, connecting to inspiring leaders in all aspects of work in Ukraine.

Director of Malta Red Cross Beregovo Ukraine
János Makuk

Hungarian Charity Service of the Order of Malta has thirty years of experience in humanitarian and development activities in domestic and international natural disasters and man-made crises. They are involved in assisting the refugees arriving to the Transcarpathian regions, providing support through the Charity Service operating in the Berehove district, particularly assisting families arriving to nearby settlements. We have started working with the Beregovo unit September 2024 and currently looking at further possible projects with Mr Makuk

Global Emergency Relief, Recovery & Reconstruction (GER3) provides immediate relief for people affected by crises worldwide.
GER3 has been a key partner ordering and delivering much needed equipments on behalf of Direct Aid to the new rehabilitation wing of Zakarpatska Oblast hospital in Uzhhorod city. The medical rehabilitation and sports equipment will provide opportunities for injured and disabled people to recover and return to their lives and families.

Founder of "Kegyes" Foundation of Forgotten children
József Sipos

Sándor is serving as a reformed church priest of Tiszakeresztúr village. He formed a group of civilians from his village to visit the abandoned children in the hospital in Nagyszőllős. In 2018, Help for "Forgotten" Children of Transcarpathia (KEGYES) was formed. As of July 2020, KEGYES became a Charitable Foundation. Our very first trip to Ukraine lead us to Mr Sipos. We have furnished nursery rooms for the State Children's Home of Svaljava. Direct Aid volunteers joined his village volunteers. His kind invitation to spend one night with families from his village was an experience we won't forget.

Kárpátaljai Sárkányellató " Dragonfeeders"
Balázs Trautmann, Mihály Oláh

The civil foundation was set up to help the 68th "Carpathian Dragons" Independent Territorial Defence Battalion of the 101st Independent Territorial Defence Brigade of the Ukrainian Army, the military unit where Professor Ferenc "Fegyir" Sándor served with several other Hungarian soldiers. They help with civilian, commercially freely available equipment that can be bought, transported and used without restrictions. Direct Aid has delivered surveillance drones for the value of 38 million HUF with the "Dragonfeeders", which were delivered directly to the fighter units in October 2024.

TV21 Editor, KHÖT Coordinator
Sándor Szabó

Sándor is a Transcarpathian journalist and NGO activist. Full-time editor-reporter of TV21 Ungvár regional television. In his reports, special emphasis is placed on the donations and subsidies that come to Ukraine He has been a volunteer in several humanitarian organizations, such as the Maltese Charity Service, the International Red Cross, the Transcarpathian Reformed Church or the Association of Subcarpathian Border Municipalities. These organizations delivered hundreds of shipments to refugee centers in Transcarpathia and Eastern Ukraine, as well as to the Ukrainian armed forces.

Directors / Vynohradive Special Needs Boys Home
Erika Gacs, Csulej Jurij Stepanovic

Erika is the Director of Finance at the Vynohradiv boarding school for orphans with mental disabilities. We have met in 2022, a few weeks into the war. At that time 65 little boys were relocated to this institution from the war zone. They needed a solution to accommodate the kids, and Direct Aid stepped in, fully furnishing the new boy's wing. Sleeping rooms, kitchen and study room was created. A year later, in the middle of winter Direct Aid stepped in to deliver power generators to keep the boys warm, and the kitchen to be able to operate and provide hot meals for over 200 people, inclduing staff.

Director/ Svalyava City Children's Home
Volodimir Beyresh

We have met Mr Volodimir in 2022, as he was the director of Svaljava Children's home. (КНП ЦМР та ПДД "Діва Марія" ЗОР ) Official name: "Virgin Mary" Medical Rehabilitation and Palliative Children's Care Center. The institution was established in 1980 as a Children's Home for children abandoned by their parents. Speciality of this institution is in the care, feeding, upbringing, treatment and rehabilitation of children with various health disorders.As the war broke out in 2022 February, 40 kindergarten kids arrived from the war hit Kyev. We helped them to create a new playing place for them. Also built new baby cots for the little ones.

Mayor of Chomony (Csongor)
András Baksa

András is a local major of Chomonyn. Since the beginning of the war his area helped the military administration of Uzghorod with trucks, clothing, protection gears. His area is a fertile agricultural ground, so fresh food was a key product they could provide for the fighters.
In 2024 Chomony was selected as a partner for the next Nursery Project, helping up to 70 kids to a healthier and inspiring place to grow up. Direct Aid and it's partners supported the local school of 400 students with a power generator bringing heat and lights.

Vynohradiv Humanitarian Center
Lyudmilla Svoreny

Lyudmila Svoreny set up a children's aid project before the war to help kids with hearing aids. They also run a boxing and dance club for troubled young kids. Since the very first day of the war, they have been actively helping displaced families. They set up a civil Humanitarian Aid Center to support the fighter's families and injured soldiers. Mostly with supporters from Poland, they have delivered significant aid to the army, keeping daily contact with their local units.

Free Ukraine Foundation
Beata Heider

Free Ukraine started not long after the invasion, and since the beginning, they been collecting aid for the local fighters.
Beata is a trained teacher and has a diploma in Ukrainian language and literature. She recently completed her training at the Odessa State University to offer mental help to injured soldiers and their families. Currently, she is volunteering as a mental health aid worker, offering guided sessions with several soldiers on the front line. This program is also extended to the family members of those soldiers. She will continue her studies at Munkachevo State University to gain full qualification as a psychologist to dedicate all her time to helping people recover from the effects of war.
