Power shortage in Ukraine is very unpredictable, due to the Russian bombing against their power stations across the country. Chomony school is fully electric when it comes to heating and lighting.
Power generator fuel cost to cover for Chomony School
The school of Chomony has a capacity of over 400 children. Currently, this number is down to 250, as many families left. The local mayor, András Baksa is keen to help those living and learning in the village. Children come first. Direct Aid has helped with a large generator to provide heat and electricity to the kids. But the operation is very expensive. It is calculated at 28 EUR/ hour. Only 4 hours of daily operation could bridge the power shortage.
We are looking for supporters to help with 5.000 EUR petrol vouchers.
